Artist Statements

·My goal is to provoke a mood and convey the essence of place in my art.

·I have utmost respect for nature and never photograph a scene that would have any negative impact(s) on the environment or wildlife.

·I strive to bring the viewer into the scene as much as possible.

·When photographing a subject, especially if it’s one that has been done countless times before, I like to capture the scene from a unique perspective.

·It is important that my photographs reflect the sight I saw in the field. For this reason, I do minimal image editing.

·While quality equipment is beneficial, I believe a photographer’s creativity and vision are the primary aspects that distinguish one landscape photographer from another.
